Environment and resource use
The company measures resource use at the Gazipur site and operates within the environmental conditions applicable to the facility. Figures are published only once verified.
Areas managed
Water
Water use in production and cleaning is metered. Consumption is reviewed against output so that increases can be investigated.
Effluent
Process effluent is treated before discharge in line with the conditions set by the Department of Environment.
Energy
Electricity and fuel consumption are recorded. Equipment schedules and maintenance are used to limit avoidable load.
Solid waste
Waste streams are separated at source. Recyclable packaging material is segregated and sent to licensed handlers.
Packaging
Packaging specifications are reviewed for material use. Any change is assessed for product protection and shelf life before adoption.
Compliance
Environmental clearance, effluent conditions and waste handling records are maintained and made available to the regulator on request.
Reported figures
Consumption and discharge figures are recorded internally. They are not published here until they have been verified for a complete reporting period.
